Sierra’s Pilates Journey

I discovered Pilates in 2016 while recovering from chronic pain. I wanted a practice that was gentle yet challenging, and I was amazed at how the reformer helped me develop stability, calm my nervous system, and return to the activities I love. Inspired by this experience, I completed my Balanced Body Comprehensive training in 2018.

I teach people of all ages and abilities, helping them reconnect with their breath and move with intention. While sessions often focus on refining movement patterns to build precision and ease discomfort, I also celebrate the power of simply moving for enjoyment.

As a clinical counsellor, I bring a trauma-informed perspective to Pilates, recognizing how stress and past experiences can be stuck in the body. I’ve worked with clients recovering from surgery, pre- and post-natal, athletes, folks with hypermobility spectrum disorders, peri- or menopause, chronic pain, scoliosis, and illness. I am committed to advocating for a fitness and movement industry that is inclusive and affirming of all bodies and identities.

My goal is to help you move in ways that feel strong, safe, empowering, and fun!

Who is Pilates For?

Pilates is truly for every body! Whether you want to recover from injuries, relieve stress, or build strength for daily life and athletic activities. The repertoire of exercises is extremely adaptable and can be tailored to your body and goals.

Although people may initially start Pilates for its physical benefits, they often experience increased mindfulness, connection with their overall body, and self.

As a queer movement instructor, I encourage queer and trans people to reach out to work with me! Pilates can be a grounding movement practice for individuals experiencing disconnection from their body. With 1:1 sessions, I try to create a safe space for you to show up and move completely as yourself.

My dream is to design a Pilates program to support folks as they recover from gender-affirming care.
